Belief in Lies
Why do we believe the lies?
For many, finding out that they have fallen for a lie is embarrassing. They constantly ask themselves afterward how they could have possibly believed the lie. In conversations a common phrase used was 'there wouldn't be a reason to lie about that.' While the lies in question varied, the common threat was an interesting one. These individuals felt the need to believe because the idea of a person lying about the topic never occurred.
For others, belief in the lies is easier than believing the truth. This mode of thought is more common in families and in many relationships. Some of these individuals find that believing the lie their partner tells is easier than accepting the harsh truth. These lies comfort many people who would rather ignore reality and the consequences that come with it.
